DALLAS— Shared workspace and coworking is gaining traction across the nation and in Dallas Foundry Ventures, Inc. announced plans for a $3 million expansion throughout major Texas markets.

Foundry Ventures, which recently acquired Foundry Club, LLC, will expand its Entrepreneurial Business Clubs (EBCs) to six new locations across Texas. Foundry Club operates The Foundry at Mockingbird Station in Dallas, the prototype for the shared space model.

"We've spent the past year developing our systems, assets and business plan at our prototype, The Foundry at Mockingbird Station," said Barry Capece, co-founder and CEO of Foundry Ventures. "Taking the time to establish our foundation and refine the model has been extremely valuable in advance of launching this capital raise. As a result, we are confident and prepared to initiate the expanded rollout, and ready to take some key equity participants along for the ride."

The Foundry EBCs target locations are in multi-use developments in densely populated major metropolitan areas.  According to Foundry, an EBC is not the traditional share workspace and business suite currently offered in most large cities.  Designs include non-traditional office space and unique meeting and conference spaces featuring, in some cases, a pool table.
