LOS ANGELES-Cushman & Wakefield has hired Karen Douthitt as director and senior operations manager at its Downtown Los Angeles office. Douthitt is a certified senior professional in human resources, and joins Cushman & Wakefield from Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies in San Diego.

At Torrey Pines Institute, Douthitt served as SVP and corporate secretary during her 15 years with the firm. She oversaw marketing and accounting, employee relations and performance management, including the firm's IT and facilities. Her vast employee relations experience, however, began while working at Union Bank of California. She provided employee relations services to the Southern California region.
