HSA Lands Whole Foods for Mayfair

MILWAUKEE—Whole Foods Market has just signed a 45,150-square-foot lease to anchor the second phase of HSA Commercial Real Estate’s effort to transform a collection of obsolete warehouses in suburban Wauwatosa into an upscale retail development called The Mayfair Collection. The Chicago-based company broke ground on the project just last year and will host a grand opening for the approximately 270,000-square-foot Phase I on April 3. The project has already attracted retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Old Navy, Carter’s, Nordstrom Rack, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Ulta Beauty.

HSA expects to break ground on the second phase this spring and convert a warehouse space at the northeast corner of Burleigh St. and 112th St. for the new Whole Foods store, which should open early in 2016. The firm also plans to include about 50,000-square-feet of junior anchor retail space, a mix of upscale bars and restaurants, a bank branch, and a 140-room hotel. Proposed future phases of The Mayfair Collection include the possible development of multi-family, office and medical buildings.
