HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA-Irvine-based developer R.D. Olson is ready to begin construction on an oceanfront hotel as part of a planned Pacific City project on Pacific Coast Highway.

The Huntington Beach Planning Commission voted 5 to 1 on Tuesday to approve minor adjustments to the plans for the eight-story hotel, according to a report in the local media.

The hotel development plan calls for 250 rooms, banquet and meeting space rooms, a spa and a restaurant, built on 4 acres. The developer said the property will be an unbranded "life style hotel."
