HOUSTON— Transwestern Development Company appointed Carleton Riser as president of the development firm. Transwestern Development Co. is the development company of Houston-based Transwestern which focuses on the development of office, industrial, mutifamily and healthcare assets.

Riser will serve in the newly created position to oversee the "rapid expansion" into east and west coast markets as well as continue to manage development in existing markets, noted Larry P. Heard, CEO of Transwestern in statement.

Riser who has 18 years of development experience both nationally and internationally, previously served as managing director at Transwestern Development Co.

Transwestern Development Co. currently has offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Atlanta, Denver, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Southern California.  The company currently has several developments underway across the nation. Notably in Houston, Pinnacle West, a 1.5 million-square-foot mixed-use development in the Energy Corridor and BHPBilliton's new 593,856-square-foot tower in the Galleria.
