ATLANTA—Wheeler/Brand Management, a full-service commercial real estate management company, is seeing an executive shift. Tom Wheeler retired from the president's chair earlier this year. Scott Meadows is now sitting in that seat.

Meadows is only the second person to serve as president. He takes the helm of Wheeler/Brand together with owner Brand Morgan, who acquired the company from Tom Kolb and Wheeler.

"I am fortunate to have been able to work with the experts behind the Wheeler name, one that I've long respected," Morgan, chairman of Wheeler/Brand, tells GlobeSt.com. "We are thrilled for the opportunity to grow our expertise in leasing and property management and carry on the company's legacy under new leadership."

Morgan describes Meadows as the "right guy for the right time" in the company's history: "Scott has built organizations from scratch. He is a systems-oriented leader, but also a great motivator. He complements Wheeler's history of collaboration and customer service and knows how to best leverage the development expertise that Brand Properties brings to the company."

Meadows comes to Wheeler/Brand from Wells Real Estate Funds, where he represented clients in markets across the US. "I'm extremely excited to now sink my roots into a local real estate role," Meadows tells GlobeSt.com. "I want to continue working with an exceptional team to attract great property owners and tenants so that we grow, but at the same time, maintain the culture that Wheeler/Brand is respected for throughout this industry."

Wheeler/Brand was founded in 1983 as Hudgens Management Company. Twenty years later, Kolb and Wheeler acquired Hudgens, changing the name to Wheeler/Kolb Management.

In 2010, the company became Wheeler/Brand Management when Kolb retired and Morgan joined the ownership structure. Currently, the firm oversees nearly 100 retail, office, and industrial properties spanning more than 5 million square feet in five states.

"We have an incredible opportunity to add a new era to an already great company," Morgan says. "We have a tremendous foundation of strong relationships and outstanding customer service. Now we intend to broaden our reach and experience to become one of the region's premier full-service commercial real estate management companies."

Though retiring from the day-to-day operations, Wheeler still serves as vice chairman of the board of directors for Wheeler/Brand. "I have enjoyed watching the company become much more diverse, not only in ownership, but also in our geographical footprint," he tells GlobeSt.com. "With Brand's vision and Scott's execution, I'm confident the company will enjoy continued success."
