NEW YORK CITY—As part of the expansion of its global real estate and technology platform, the Pavonis Group has acquired Helix Global Partners LLC. The acquisition, which was done through the firm's wholly owned subsidiary Pavonis Advisory Partners, will serve as the foundation of the newly formed Pavonis Strategic Advisors. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The deal marks the expansion of Pavonis Group's global real estate and technology platform to include innovative real estate, business and technology advisory services for domestic and global corporations, public and private investors, and US and foreign governments.

According to Pavonis Group managing partner Mark Kingston, the partnership has allowed the firm to "now enhance our particular focus on real estate and related technology with a wide spectrum of advisory solutions. We are even better equipped to provide the highest level of strategic value to the market."

Barry M. Barovick and Elizabeth Smith Kulik, principals of Helix Global, developed their advisory model to work closely with C-suite executives, boards of directors and other decision makers. Advisory Services are structured to address the opportunities and challenges of operations, start-up, transformation, expansion and repositioning in the ever-evolving business and financial markets. They have worked with both private and public players, including investment banks, private equity firms and other financial institutions to facilitate capital market transactions and asset/entity restructuring of more than $50 billion of institutional interests in the 2008 world financial crisis. They've also served as advisors to private clients with significant interests in the MENA region, Europe and Latin America.

"Helix Global has an impressive platform of advisory services and a wide global client base," relates Barovick. "Now, with the integration of our company into the Pavonis platform, clients will be able to take advantage of a unique combination of senior-level experience, knowledge and technology solutions that the broader Pavonis platform provides."

Kulik adds, "Together, we are now uniquely positioned to deliver world-class strategic advisory services in a most efficient manner to the global business and real estate communities."

The pair have worked together for years in similar capacities. Both Barovick and Kulik are former senior managing directors and global directors of real estate advisory at FTI Consulting. Prior to that, Barovick was CEO with Grubb & Ellis Co. and partner and global director of real estate advisory services at Ernst & Young LLP. Meanwhile, Kulik was Grubb's chief strategy officer and head of global services, and was also president of BGK Properties Inc.
