SAN JOSE, CA-Construction for Equity Residential's new 554-unit Tasman Apartments in San Jose is now underway. Located at 99 Vista Montana in North San Jose, the Tasman Apartments will a short walk from the San Francisco 49ers' new home, Levi's Stadium, as well as in close proximity to the corporate headquarters of Cisco Systems, and the Great America amusement park.

Peter Solar, VP of development for Equity Residential, tells GlobeSt.com that the construction for the 554 units is $215 million. He adds that it has an estimated completion in Q2 2016.

When complete, Tasman will have an expansive pool, a swim spa, fitness center, roof deck, bicycle repair facilities, a barbecue center, a clubhouse with extra storage, game center and WiFi Lounge.
In addition to all of the offerings within the building, Equity Residential is also in the process of building the five-acre Domain Park, with construction on an additional one-acre park at Tasman to start in 2015. These on-site parks "ensure an abundance of green space and a lush, eco-friendly environment for residents and visitors," says the firm.
"We are very excited to have construction on Tasman underway," Solar says. "Given the success of Domain just one block away, combined with the abundance of mass transit access close by, new local amenities and long list of onsite features, we envision Tasman will become one of the region's most highly sought-after apartment communities."

While Tasman utilizes sustainable practices with conventional construction, Equity Residential recently celebrated the grand opening of Domain, as GlobeSt.com reported, the largest pre-fabricated residential building west of the Mississippi River, down the street at 1 Vista Montana. With their inclusion of sprawling green spaces and dedication to environmentally sensitive development practices, these two projects not only demonstrate Equity Residential's support of the North San Jose community, but also the company's commitment to the environment and sustainability.

Tasman Apartments' interiors and common areas are being envisioned by Style Interior Design; the project is being built by local contractor, Ross Construction. Architect is Humphrey Partners; landscape design firm is Valley Crest Design.

Equity Residential also has other nearby constructions underway. Just north, in San Francisco, the firm's Sol at Mission Bay, a 16-story tower with a five-story podium, is also now underway. The 396,200-square-foot residential development featuring 273 apartment residences, is expected to have a construction completion near the third quarter of 2015.
