BOSSIER CITY, LA—Information technology services company, CSC, announces a 116,000-square-foot technology center in the National Cyber Research Park in Bossier City, Louisiana.

CSC's lease kicks off the 3,000 acre park being developed by the Cyber Innovation Center, a non-profit research corporation.  Construction on the state funded building will begin later this year and is slated for completion in the second quarter of 2014. CSC will occupy immediately occupy 40,000-square-feet of temporary space in the within the Cyber Innovation Center during construction.

The new center will add 800 direct jobs in four years to the area and an additional 805 indirect jobs says Louisiana Economic Development.

CSC's Louisiana facility aims to expand higher education programs focused on the technology industry including cloud computing, cybersecurity, big data and application modernization. CSC could not be reached for comment, but said in a statement Louisiana was selected out of 134 sites across the country.

"As we transform our company into a next-generation IT services provider, we are committed to developing a next-generation workforce skilled in cloud computing, cybersecurity and big data technologies," says Dave Zolet, CSC executive vice president and general manager. "The special public-private partnership with the State of Louisiana, Louisiana Tech and Bossier Parish Community College provides a strong platform for building a recruiting pool for our company and anchoring the development of a new technology corridor."
