ATLANTIC CITY-Clearwater, FL-based TJM Properties has closed on purchase of the Caridge Hotel here and will reopen it this May.
The 84-year-old hotel, previously attached to a casino that was closed after failing revenues, was purchased for an undisclosed price from Caesars Entertainment. It won't have a casino in its new incarnation.
However, Bally's next door is accessible via a second-floor entrance.
TJM said it will do a "Boardwalk Empire"-style renovation of the hotel. The HBO show by that name is spun around the real-life character of one-time Atlantic City mogul Nucky Johnson. The hotel is to get a themed restaurant and bar.
