SAN FRANCISCO-Hotel G, a luxury boutique brand from Hong Kong, will open its first Bay Area location this year near Union Square, at 386 Geary Street.

The 153-room hotel will include a second-floor gym and meeting rooms and a cutting-edge mid-century modern design theme. It could be open as early as this summer, according to a recent report in the San Francsico Business Times.

"San Francisco is an intellectual city with history and modern-day sophistication and our end goal is for Hotel G to channel each of those qualities," general manager Steve Rizzo told the Times. "The guest experience will emphasize a comfortable lifestyle with a design that is simple yet functional and complements the building's unique architectural elements."
