LOS ANGELES-Partner Engineering & Science and its sister company Partner Energy have earned an Energy Star Certification from the Environmental Protection Agency for its headquarter offices. The Energy Star certification illustrates that Partner meets the EPA's rigorous standards and performs in the top 25% of similar properties nationwide.

"We are thrilled to be recognized for our energy efficiency initiatives by this Energy Star Certification," says Joseph Derhake, president of Partner. "As a national engineering, environmental and energy consulting firm, we take seriously our responsibility to become better stewards of our community and put our money where our mouth is, so to speak. This collaborative effort with our sister company, Partner Energy, at our headquarters has led to an increase in energy efficiency and a decrease in energy costs."

To earn the prestigious certification, the EPA analyzed 12 months of utility consumption data, building operations and tenant behavior at partner's facilities. Some of the green technologies at Partner's headquarters office include efficient lighting, car charging stations and ultra low-flow toilets. The property also reduces energy through sensor-controlled lighting and a smart HVAC system to regulate temperature controls. Recently, Partner has up the ante by adding solar panels on the rooftop that generate a portion of the building's energy to further increase efficiency. These standards also meet the LEED certification requirements, and the company is in the process of applying for the certification as well.
