ROCHELLE PARK, NJ- The Bergen County Board of Social Services has leased a 55,000-square-foot office here, taking more than half of the building at 218 Route 17 North.

The social services office is currently located across a parking lot, at 216 Route 17 North.

Jamie Schwartz of GHP Office Realty, one of the owner representatives who negotiated the lease, said it is worth than $21 million over its 15-year term.

The current office space no longer suits the county office's needs, he said, adding that “our building was the logical destination.”. An architect, Stefano Cardarelli of the Cardarelli Design Group, has been hired to design space that will be more efficient for the county board and its clients, Schwartz said.

The 95,000-square-foot building, located just off of Route 17, is now 100% leased.

Brad Thoubboron, a principal of MRH Real Estate, represented ownership along with Schwartz. James E. Hanson's Michael G. Walters, Scott K. Perkins and Anthony Cassano represented the tenant.

GHP specializes in acquisition, leasing and management of office, retail, flex and

industrial properties in the suburban markets of the Tri-State area. The company currently owns and manages over 5 million square feet.
