HOUSTON—Johnson Capital, a growing national real estate capital advisory firm, is opening a Houston office to expand its platform in Texas.
The new office will be under the direction of current SVP, Ron Davis and managing director Jason Pumpelly, both of whom have been instrumental in growing Johnson Capital's business in Texas out of its Dallas office.
The new office is an integral part of the company's strategy to expand in key markets around the country and to capitalize on the growing Texas economy. In 2013, Johnson Capital's Dallas office arranged debt, mezzanine, and/or joint venture equity for the development, acquisition, and refinancing for the following asset types - multi-family, student housing, senior housing, assisted living, memory care, office, retail, industrial, and self-storage.
Johnson Capital has been serving its clients for more than a quarter of a century. In 2013 the firm arranged close to $2 billion in commercial real estate financing. The Houston office is the firm's 27th in the United States.
With over 20 years of commercial real estate experience each, Davis and Pumpelly will lead the expansion in Houston to better serve existing clients in the region and to establish new relationships with owners, developers and capital providers. Johnson Capital has arranged financing for many Houston area projects including industrial, office, multifamily, retail and self-storage.
Davis has extensive experience in such diverse disciplines as appraisal, development, and mortgage banking.
Prior to joining Johnson Capital, Davis was VP of finance for a Dallas-based international development firm with responsibilities that included securing financing for the company's projects. During his career, he has worked on the placement of more than $1.6 billion of commercial loans. Mr. Davis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University.
Pumpelly has spent the past 25 years in such fields as banking, corporate services, development and investment banking. He opened the Dallas for Johnson Capital in 2008 and has led the growth and expansion of the Texas team.
