TAMPA, FL—Green is the new black. Well, maybe not the new black as office buildings have been striving for the U.S. Green Building Council designations for some years now. In any case, the latest to win LEED Gold certification is the MetLife-owned Bank of America Plaza in Tampa, FL.

“The CBRE Management and Technical Services team appreciate MetLife providing the necessary capital and support so that we could use best practices and creative solutions to garner energy savings and deliver on the MetLife and CBRE Asset Services commitment to sustainability,” says Lynn Vilmar, a senior real estate manager for CBRE. CBRE first vice president Anne-Marie Ayers, vice president Phil Weber, and sales associate Erica Waltermire lead leasing efforts for the Tampa office tower.

Led by CBRE director Julie Palmer-Nicholson and Vilmar, the Tampa office building's on-site management team worked with CBRE senior chief engineer Doug Lawson and CBRE's technical services team. The goal was to creatively and resourcefully use best practices to drive energy savings and follow the MetLife and CBRE commitment to sustainability.
