NEW YORK CITY—Valbridge Property Advisors has expanded into the New York City market in combination with the Oxford Group, the largest independent commercial and multifamily property appraisal firm in the region.

The company will now do business regionally under the name Valbridge Property Advisors l Oxford Group, with office locations here as well as in Morris Plains and Wall Township, NJ. Regional management will continue to be handled by George Denman, MAI, senior managing director; John Eckhoff, MAI, managing director (New Jersey); Jack Sheehan, MAI, managing director (New Jersey) and Frank Trupia, managing director.

Market conditions made the merger particularly prudent at this time, Denman tells GlobeSt.com. “The economy in general still hasn't reached its peak so there's a lot of pent up demand for financing as well as mergers and acquisitions. Entering this partnership gives us a good position to take advantage of that.”

The newly merged firm has some unique value propositions, he continues. “Our customers have expressed frustration that there's nothing to look at the market on a national basis; the field is thin. Also, we're not broker driven or broker dependent, and every one of Valbridge's offices is led by an MAI. That sets us apart from mom and pop shops.”

Adds Richard Armalavage, MAI, CEO and president of Valbridge, “Local, regional, multi-market and national clients expect and appreciate the full range of commercial valuation and advisory services delivered by best-in-class appraisal professionals. Our combined team is well positioned to analyze properties and portfolios and advise clients on investment, lending, lease-own and other real estate and financial business decisions.”
