Globest.com reported on March 4th in a headline article: “Getting more from the same or smaller space is a top priority for retailers in the net lease space this year.”

Well, this weekend I stopped by my local New York City Walgreens drugstore to pick up some Zantac for real estate heartburn relief.

What's the connection with real estate, aside from heartburn?

The plastic bottle of Zantac was 1” X 3”. Okay, so what? Well, the cardboard package was 4” X 4”. That takes up approximately three times more space. Multiply that by hundreds of products that oversize shelf packaging, and you have more square footage requirements.

It's not only a sad story for net lease retail investors, its also a solid contribution to global warming.
