WEEHAWKEN, NJ-Within two weeks of Hartz Mountain's grand opening last month of the first phase of its Estuary apartment complex at Lincoln Harbor here, 63 apartments – more than a third of the initial 181 units – were leased.

A total of 535 units in three buildings are to be built.

The first phase at the waterside complex offers a range of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with rents ranging from $1,740-to-$5,185 a month. The development, set just a short walk away from Hoboken, is a 10-minute ride from Manhattan via ferry and light rail or by car through the nearby Lincoln Tunnel.

Amenities include a 24-hour concierge, a dog run, outdoor billiards, barbecue grills and other features. Two of the three buildings will share an outdoor pool deck overlooking the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline, with cabanas, day beds, fireplaces and hot tub spas.

The buildings were designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, top-quality finishes, Energy Star appliances, washer-dryers, linen closets and large walk-in closets in each unit.

“Estuary was created to provide a calm home environment, removing the chaos of the renters-by-choice's lives once they walk through the building's front door,” said Emanuel Stern, president and COO of Hartz.

The company is pursuing LEED certification for the complex from the U.S. Green Building Council.
