LAKEWOOD, NJ—With 1.2 million square feet at its Corrporate Park Lakewood fully occupied, Sudler's CEO tells GlobeSt.com the company is working on a speculative building– and potentially another after that.
“We are in the ground with a 140,000-square-foot industrial building,” says Peter Sudler. “Work has been somewhat stalled by the snow. We've already got three or four prospective tenants, though.”
The new building at 1001 New Hampshire Ave. should be complete later this year. If it fills quickly, Sudler said the company will promptly start a second spec' project within the park.
Corporate Park Lakewood was established in the 1960's during a period of strong migration to the suburbs to provide warehouse and distribution space that would cater to the Jersey Shore region.
“Business is very strong in Lakewood right now,” says Sudler. The company recently signed long-term leases with Century Sports and Snyder's-Lance, Inc. at its 1715 Oak St. property within the park, bringing it to full occupancy. (See previous story)
Sudler made both speculative and tenant improvements to 61,660 square feet of warehouse space at the Oak Street building, including new bathrooms, HVAC systems, lighting, office space and new canopy entrances to the 20,600 square feet for Century Sports and 21,000-square-foot space for Snyder's-Lance. Also, additional loading docks were installed.
The 250-acre Lakewood park is located on Route 70 near interchange 88/89 of the Garden State Parkway.
