PHOENIX—Tempe Marketplace, a 1.3 million square-foot regional center, announces plans to open a Nordstrom Rack, DSW, and Total Wine in 2014. Developed by Vestar and located in Tempe, Tempe Marketplace offers strategically integrated shopping, dining and entertainment in a pedestrian-oriented village town center environment.
Opening mid-April will be Designer Shoe Warehouse, A location for a location for shoes, handbags and accessories at a value price. The store will occupy 20,000 square feet and will be located on the southeast section of the center, next to Best Buy.
Nordstrom Rack will open this October, in a 35,000-square-foot-space, next to JCPenney, also located in the southeast portion of Tempe Marketplace. Nordstrom Rack, the off-price division of Nordstrom, offers top brands and latest fashion trends at discount prices. This will be their fifth location in the Valley.
Another noteworthy achievement for the retail center is the signing of Total Wine & More, the largest independent fine wine retailer in the country. The fine wine store will occupy 20,000 square feet of space between Nordstrom Rack and PetSmart and will also open in October. Total Wine carries a selection of more than 8,000 different wines from every wine-producing region in the world. As the preeminent fine wine store in each of its markets, Total Wine & More is the leading non-supermarket seller of fine wine in the United States.
“We are very excited to welcome DSW, Nordstrom Rack and Total Wine to Tempe Marketplace,” said David Malin, vice president of acquisitions and development for Vestar, which owns the shopping center. “The new additions are perfect complements to our project and to our broad selection of shopping, dining and entertainment venues.”
