NEW YORK CITY—Paul Sisson has joined CBRE Global Multi Manager as head of Americas, based here. In this capacity, he will lead the firm's Americas multi manager team and be responsible for investments in primary funds, secondaries, co-investments and programmatic joint ventures with operating partners. Investments will include both debt and equity.

Prior to joining CBRE Global Investors, Sisson was a SVP and head of originations for Brookfield Real Estate Financial Partners, the debt investment platform of Brookfield Property Group. Before Brookfield, Sisson held various positions at Starwood Capital Group, where he was a member of the acquisitions team responsible for structuring debt and equity transactions for their global opportunity fund. He has extensive experience in sourcing and structuring both debt and equity investments including senior, stretched senior and mezzanine investments, and equity joint ventures with real estate operating partners.

His experience made him ideally suited to the job, CEO Jeremy Plummer tells GlobeSt.com in this UPDATE to a previous story. "GMM has migrated its investment approach from just primary funds to a variety of approaches including secondaries, co-investments, and joint ventures, all of which require direct property underwriting skills. In addition, when investing in the US on behalf of foreign capital, it is advantageous to invest through some form of debt structure. Paul brings an important mix of experience which covers equities, JVs and debt, together with a strong network of relationships with operators, so he has an ideal blend of skills for this role."

Sisson earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Colgate University and a master of science degree in real estate finance from New York University. He replaces Scott Brown, who left the firm at the beginning of the year. CBRE Global Multi Manager has 65 investment professionals based in four offices around the globe. GMM is the independent multi-manager division of CBRE Global Investors, a global real esate investment management firm.
