ORLANDO—Starwood Hotels & Resorts is bringing its eco-wise Element brand to Orlando. The hotel line, which is built with green practices from the ground up, will debut in Orlando in July 2015 as part of the Orlando Fashion Square Mall redevelopment.

Owned by a joint venture between UP Development, StaySharpe, and LBK Hotel Ventures, Element Orlando North will be the brand's third hotel in Florida, coming on the heels of Element Miami International Airport and Element Miami Doral. Element Orlando North will offer 151 rooms.

Element is the first major hotel brand to mandate that all properties pursue the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for high-performance buildings. As Starwood describes it, every aspect of the brand is designed to fuel a life in balance and on the move.
