LANSING—CSM Lodging has decided to develop a Hyatt Place hotel Lansing Township, MI. The six-story, 125-key Hyatt Place Lansing hotel will sit within the Heights at Eastwood adjacent to the Eastwood Towne Center. Along with the hotel, the Heights at Eastwood will have 100,000-square-feet of in-line retail and a 125-unit luxury apartment building.

Construction for the new $18.3 million, 82,000-square-foot hotel will begin early this month with a target opening of spring 2015. This is CSM Lodging's first joint venture with MDG Development, a development and management firm specializing in projects within North America and Europe.

The new Hyatt will be located at the Lake Lansing Rd. and US-127 interchange, minutes from Michigan State University and from the state capitol.

“We are excited to be a part of the new Hyatt Place Lansing Eastwood and to grow our portfolio in Michigan,” says Bill Upshaw, the president of CSM Lodging, a division of CSM Corp. “Our joint venture with MDG Development allows CSM to continue to grow our third party management platform. CSM is also excited to develop our first Hyatt-branded hotel, and we look forward to furthering our relationship with the Hyatt family of brands.”
