MINNEAPOLIS—JLL has just promoted Brian Ginkel and John Lorence, two of its top brokers in the Minneapolis office. Previously executive vice presidents, both have been promoted to the position of managing director, recognition of the high levels of success both achieved in a relatively short period of time, company officials say.

“Through their outstanding work and consistent achievements, Brian Ginkel and John Lorence have played a considerable role in the increasing success and expanding presence of the Minneapolis office,” says Chris Rohrer, executive managing director. “Given their track records, their promotions to managing directors are appropriate and well-deserved.”

Ginkel joined JLL in 2007 and specializes in advising corporations on strategic real estate initiatives. He is also a member of JLL's national data center solutions practice. Among the significant transactions he has completed are the new 180,000-square-foot headquarters for Olympus Surgical Technologies in suburban Brooklyn Park and the 451,000-square-foot Wells Fargo renewal and lease consolidation in Minneapolis.

He has also represented Ernst & Young, Kimberly-Clark, Principal Financial, Microsoft, Piper Jaffray, ShopNBC, Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly and Mackall Crounse & Moore.

Lorence is in the firm's corporate solutions services office and provides national account management for several Twin Cities-based companies including Toro, Great Lakes Higher Education Corp. and Eide Bailly. Lorence joined JLL in 2008 and was previously with the Staubach Company.

He has been involved in many notable transactions, including the Wells Fargo renewal and lease consolidation totaling 451,000-square-feet, the Kroll Ontrack renewal and lease consolidation of 195,000-square-feet and the Synovis renewal and expansion of 80,000-square-feet.

He has also represented KPMG, Concur Technologies, Michael Foods, Merchant & Gould, Piper Jaffray, Marsh & McLennan and Regus.
