SAN FRANCISCO—Pineapple Hospitality Company, Bellevue, WA, has acquired The Hotel California here, it's first buy in California. The company owns four properties in Seattle and one Porland, OR.

The sale of the 101-year-old hotel closed late last week, and a major renovation and redesign is being planned for next year. The seven-story, 83 room property was built in 1913. It is located in the heart of San Francisco's theater district, is three blocks from Union Square and houses the award-winning vegetarian restaurant Millennium.
