INDIO, CA—A $100 million mixed-use development is being planned here, and according to local media reports, approval has been granted for apartments, a hotel and lots of retail.

The planned development, Northgate, will be located near I-10 on Jefferson Street and Avenue 42. Phase 1 of the project, a service station, has already been completed.

"We are very excited we think this is great for the city of Indio," said Indio Chamber of Commerce president Joshua Bonner, in speaking with local media outlet KESQ.
