LOS ANGELES—CoreNet Global's Southern California chapter has named its 2014-2015 board of directors. Kelly Reenders, agency administrator of economic development for San Bernardino County, will serve as chair of the board and David Callahan, who recently was hired as SVP of Avison Young, will serve as president of the board. They will serve alongside 21 other real estate professionals throughout Southern California who have been appointed to the board.
“Supporting the corporate real estate function as well as building our base in Southern California remains central to our focus this year,” says Reenders. “We're committed to being a source of education, networking and career advancement for our industry. We have a full slate of educational programs critical to advancing the business goals of our members and we're working to bring together resources to tackle issues impacting today's workplace.” The chapter will specifically be focused on providing education and peer-to-peer networking to its members. The SoCal chapter is the CoreNet's third largest chapter.
CoreNet has a total of 400 members in the Southern California region. For the unfamiliar, the group is dedicated to advancing real estate knowledge and connecting professionals. “CoreNet will continue to provide a forum in which corporate real estate professionals are encouraged to share ideas, experiences and best practices with their peers,” Callahan says. “As an organization, we are always searching for new ways to deliver value to our members. This year, we've added several strong corporate real estate executives to our board. Their input, based upon real world experiences, will prove valuable in shaping the direction of the chapter.” The chapter will hold several events this year, including a golf tournament on May 29 at the Resort at Pelican Hill and the REmmy Awards and Charity Gala in Downtown Los Angeles.
