FORT WORTH, TX–White House Black Market will open a store at Sundance Square. The women's apparel company has leased 3,815 square feet at the corner of Houston and Third Streets with plans to open in July.
“We have been talking with more national retailers as we look to attract additional soft good and apparel stores into Sundance Square's mix,” says Johnny Campbell, president and CEO of Sundance Square.
Other businesses located at Sundance Square include LOFT, Radio Shack, Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, Daddy Jacks Seafood, Jamba Juice and P.F. Chang's China Bistro.
“In the past few years, we have seen significant interest from national retailers who are considering downtown Fort Worth for their portfolios," Campbell says. "With a history of strong occupancies among office and residential space, Fort Worth is the perfect location for retailers looking for expansion.”
Sundance Square has seen increased visibility and traffic, due in part to the development of the 55,000-square-foot Sundance Square Plaza and new class A buildings. The Westbrook, at 425 Houston St., is a six-story 93,000-square-foot building. Commerce Building, at 420 Commerce St., totals 83,000 square feet in five stories. The property opened in October 2013. The Cassidy, at 407 Throckmorton St., is a 99,000-square-foot space, which includes retail at the base and luxury apartments on the top floors. The property is expected to open later this year.
Additionally, Hoya Korean Kitchen, the brainchild of restauteur Odes Kim, will open in July. And recently the Silver Leaf Cigar Lounge opened its 2,100-square-foot shop.
“Hoya Korean Kitchen culinary vision emphasizes the use of fresh ingredients combined with classic and innovative Korean recipes,” says Kim. “Americans love Asian food, and they are becoming more familiar with Korean cuisine.”
