TYSONS, VA—The Garrett Cos. has acquired the Kip Killmon's Tysons Ford property at 8201 Leesburg Pike here for $26.5 million. The 204,000-square-foot parcel will be part of a mixed-use development the Stafford County-based developer plans to build.

Garrett plans to have the Ford dealership and at least one other neighboring property rezoned, according to company president Andrew Garrett. The firm also owns the nine-story office Tysons Office Center at 8133 Leesburg Pike nearby, which will also be part of the rezoning package, according to the Washington Business Journal. The development site is located near the Greensboro Silver Line Metro station.

Garrett says the rezoning package will be a mix of residential and commercial uses that will conform to Fairfax County's plans for Tysons. He adds that he is scheduled to meet with Fairfax County Supervisor Linda Smyth today to discuss the project. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
