GLENDALE, CA—Caruso Affiliated has begun a multimillion-dollar renovation of its the Residences at the Americana at Brand mixed-use and multifamily complex in Glendale. The renovation will transform 16 top-floor apartments into one- and two-bedroom penthouse suites with more than 40 upgrades.

“There is a strong demand for luxury living in Glendale,” Stewart Moore, Caruso Affiliated VP of residential operations, tells GlobeSt.com. “It has always been Caruso Affiliated's primary focus to provide the highest standard of living at the Residences, and as we approach our seventh year, it's time to revitalize our wonderful property to ensure that our residents' expectations are not only met, but consistently exceeded.” To fulfill those high standards, Caruso has tapped top-interior designer Waldo Fernandez to design a two-bedroom model penthouse, and place his seal of approval of each of the 16 units.

The newly designed units will push the limits of luxury with Viking and Bosch appliances, separate wine refrigerators, hardwood floors, custom paint and crown molding. Residents of “the Penthouses” will also be privy to extended onsite amenities and services, like exclusive parking, VIP elevators, monthly car washes and a personal concierge. These amenities will help attract the growing luxury pool in Glendale. “We've had a strong demand for luxury living and a five-star, resort-style experience in Glendale for some time now.  Glendale is home to major corporations such as Disney, Legal Zoom, Nestle, DreamWorks and many of their executives live at the Residences,” says Moore. Rental rates will range from $3,100 for a one-bedroom penthouse to $7,000 for the highest-end two-bedroom penthouse.

This news comes after Caruso made $70 million in renovations to the Americana at Brand's retail shops last year, including the addition of a new Nordstrom department store and several up-scale dining destinations. Caruso plans to continue updating the property. Between summer and fall, The Americana at Brand will be adding an array of other retailers including Diane von Furstenberg, and great operators such as Sprinkles Cupcakes, Cookies and Ice Cream ATM.
