LONDON—Prologis, Inc. is working on a 316,000 square foot distribution facility at DP World London Gateway in the United Kingdom.
The facility will be constructed at London Gateway, a new multimodal logistics park and deep-water port located 20 miles from central London. The building is designed to achieve BREEAM 2011 'very good' accreditation and the best Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating for its size. Prologis is developing London Gateway's first logistics facility in a joint venture with DP World.
"London Gateway is the first strategic deep-water port built in the U.K. in more than a century," said Andrew Griffiths, managing director, Prologis U.K. "Demand for modern logistics facilities has been exceptionally strong in the market, and this property's multimodal connectivity and proximity to London provide an advantage to customers looking for a more efficient distribution system in the region."
Prologis owns and manages approximately 19.6 million square feet of logistics and distribution space in the U.K. as of March 31, 2014.
