NEW YORK—When it comes to professional networking organizations in commercial real estate, the Commercial Real Estate Women's Network has ranked as one of the most dedicated in advancing the knowledge and achievements of its members. But this knowledge has been missing from the kick-off schedule at one premier CRE event over the last few conferences. In 2014, that's changing.

Finance—both personal and national—will be the topic of discussion as the CREW Network hosts hundreds of attendees at the Opening Breakfast of the International Council of Shopping Centers' annual RECon conference in Las Vegas on Monday, May 19th at 7:30 a.m.

The breakfast, which will feature a talk by Today Show Financial Editor and best-selling author Jean Chatzky, will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Room N4 at the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“The return of this breakfast after a brief break is extremely welcome and particularly timely,” says CREW CEO Gail Ayers. “CREW and ICSC have many members in common, all of whom are interested to hear Jean Chatzky's common sense rules about managing money. And nearly all can relate to managing our business affairs as well!”

RECon, the largest gathering of retail real estate professionals in the world, will be held Sunday May 18 through Tuesday, May 20th at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Unlike previous years, the conference will take place over three days, rather than four, so returning the CREW Breakfast to the schedule is an especially significant commitment to the industry's women, observes CREW Director Faith Hope Consolo, chairman of Douglas Elliman Real Estate's Retail Group.

“I launched and still serve as the Chairman of ICSC's Women's Special Industry Group program of educational sessions, so I know their dedication to advancing women in the industry has never wavered,” Consolo says. “But a breakfast that literally will start the first full day of the conference is a true affirmation of its relationship with CREW.”

Attendance at the breakfast is open to all full-program registrants of RECon. For more information, visit: http://www.icsc.org/2014RECON/.
