WHITE PLAINS, NY—Members of Westchester County's commercial real estate industry came together this month to honor Montefiore Medical Center and Simone Development Companies at the 23nd annual Hall of Honor Awards Dinner. The two honorees were recognized for their contributions to Westchester's economy. The event was held at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill in Tarrytown.

Montefiore is an academic medical center nationally renowned for its clinical excellence, scientific discovery and commitment to its community. It includes four hospitals, 1,491 beds across130 locations. In Westchester, Montefiore recently acquired Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle. Montefiore also recently announced an affiliation with White Plains Hospital. Last year, Montefiore purchased a 300,000-square-foot office facility from Kraft Foods in Tarrytown for administrative and back office operations.

Simone Development Companies is a full service real estate investment company specializing in the acquisition and development of office, retail, industrial and residential properties in the New York tri-state area. Simone owns and manages more than five million square feet of property in the Bronx, Westchester, Queens, Long Island and Connecticut.

The company's portfolio includes more than 100 properties and ranges from multi-building office parks to retail and industrial space. Simone, along with partner Fareri Associates, is constructing an 85,000-square foot medical office building at 3030 Westchester Avenue in Purchase. The building, which is the first new office building to be built along Westchester's Platinum Mile in more than 25 years, is being leased by WESTMED Medical Group. Accepting the award for Simone Development was Patricia Simone, VP of leasing and operations, Simone Development Companies.

Michael Siegel, executive managing director, Colliers International, was the evening emcee. In addition to the Hall of Honor Awards, the Best of BOMA Signature Awards also were presented to recognize excellence in property management. This year's awards and their winners are: Tenant Fit Out, Xylem, Inc., Reckson Executive Park, 1100 King St., Rye Brook, NY; Creative Real Estate Deal of the Year, Scarsdale Medical Group, Saxon Woods Corporate Center, Harrison, NY; and Signature Building Team of the Year, Robert Weisz, Lorraine DeMaria, Nik Ilic, Dan Hannon, Itamar Simoes, Glenn Walsh and Larry Ruggieri, RPW Group, 1133 Westchester Ave, White Plains;

The BOMA Westchester President's Award?pwas resented to the founding members of BOMA Westchester: Joel Cardillo, Bill Friedman, Denis Guerin and Tony Lifrieri.
