SUMMIT, NJ−Developers Mark Yeager and Normandy Real Estate Partners did so well with their first Summit office building they are doing it again.

The partners have broken ground on a second office building on Springfield Avenue in downtown Summit. After demolition of an existing building and site work is complete, construction of a four-story structure with 28,000 square feet of office space and 4,500 square feet of ground-floor retail will commence.

Construction will take about a year.

Yeager noted that downtown Summit “has proven to be a huge draw for businesses and merchants in the area.” MRY - Yeager's company - and Normandy filled all 65,000 square feet of their first office building within three months of completing construction two years ago.

The Summit Executive Center, as that building is known, was marketed as offering a “suburban/urban” location in downtown Summit, since it was built close to the NJ Transit train station offering Midtown Direct service to Manhattan.

The new building is set only two blocks from the downtown train station.

“We're eager to watch this state-of-the-art building rise out of the ground in the coming months, providing Summit with an infusion of in-demand, high-quality Class A commercial space,” Yeager said.
