NEW YORK CITY–Colliers International has hired Richard Charkham as an executive director. Most recently an SVP at Centric Real Estate, he brings more than 19 years of legal and real estate experience to the firm.
More specifically, Charkham offers expertise in advising corporate tenants—particularly American subsidiaries of Israeli and British companies—on their real estate strategies, including the implementation of the acquisition and disposition of office space throughout the US and other areas of the Americas.
Throughout his real estate career, Charkham has completed more than four million square feet of transactions, including the relocation and expansion of the US headquarters in New York of the Economist Newspaper Group, Institutional Investor, Sentinel Real Estate, CFO Publishing and Human Rights First. He also has completed acquisitions and dispositions in multiple markets within the US and multiple global locations for companies such as Amdocs, NICE Systems and Comverse, among others.
“Richard joins us with a great deal of success in working with clients overseas and throughout the United States,” says Joseph Harbert, president of Colliers International's Eastern Region. “With his combination of real estate and legal experience he most certainly will be an asset to the Collier's team, helping us serve corporate clients in a highly strategic fashion.”
Prior to entering the real estate industry, Richard served as a lawyer in England and Israel for 16 years.
