LOS ANGELES—Anita Makwana has been named the director of interior architecture and design for Ware Malcomb, a leading architecture and design firm. She will lead business development and growth for the firm's interior design practice in the Los Angeles area. She will be based in the firm's West Los Angeles office.

“My chief responsibilities will be to develop and grow our interiors practice, while providing excellent client service and design in the LA interiors market,” Makwana tells GlobeSt.com. “My experience in Orange County has proven to be successful and I intend to bring those skills to the Los Angeles market.”

Makwana has worked with Ware Malcomb since 2005, when she first joined the firm as project manager, and then three years later, she was promoted to director, where she worked to develop the interior studio program. At the time, her accounts included Thales, Pacific Life, Experian and Brookfield.

“My goals in this position will be to gain a comprehensive knowledge base of this market, grow the team and develop the talent that Ware Malcomb has proven to be impeccable,” she says. “With this talent potential, we will be able to bring a full range of services to new and continuing clients.  I want Ware Malcomb to be a resource and advisor in the industry for design, long-term relationships and collaboration.”

For the unfamiliar, Ware Malcomb is behind the $136-million J.H. Snyder class-A creative office campus in Hollywood. Called 959 Seward, the project is anchored by two glass buildings and surrounded by open green spaces. It will be built with sustainability in mind to LEED Silver-Certified standards.
