CHICAGO—MB Real Estate Inc. has just hired Craig Walczyk as its new senior vice president/chief accounting officer and managing director.
Walczyk has assumed responsibility for all financial aspects of the company, including its entire management, leasing and construction management portfolio. His responsibilities will also include overseeing all financial reporting and audits as well as the development and construction financing processes.
“Craig is a seasoned finance and accounting executive in the real estate industry,” says Kevin Purcell, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Chicago-based MB Real Estate. “He has a track record for building and leading high-performance teams and the ability to systematically evaluate complex financial issues. We are pleased to welcome him to the team and know that he will be a valuable resource to both our staff and our clients.”
Walczyk was previously an executive vice president, chief accounting officer for Waterton Associates in Chicago where he led a team responsible for executing the strategy for acquisitions, dispositions, fund startups, fund mergers and liquidations. He has also held senior finance and accounting roles with the Prime Group and was an audit senior manager with Ernst & Young. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison where he received his bachelor's degree in accounting.
