Google announced this week that it plans to spend billions of dollars to launch a fleet of satellites that will extend Internet access across the globe to the remotest of unwired regions.
For those of us who have traveled to faraway places across the globe, the frustration of lack of connectivity trumps the lack of a great cup of java. I believe that Google will pull this off.
Why? Well, this week I took a ride on Google Earth and stood on the street in front of my grade school home in rural New Jersey, and then got a street view of our lake house in rural Minnesota.
Google has the know-how, and with its amazing satellite technology, Google's new satellite agenda is going to be a game changer. Just think—we'll now need Amazon distribution centers in the Gobi Desert.
