DES MOINES, IA—The developer Continental Properties, Inc. has just awarded the construction contract for a luxury multifamily complex here to McShane Construction Co., its long-standing builder. Springs at Waukee will be located in suburban Waukee, about 16.5 miles west of Des Moines, at 500 NE Horizon Dr. The company will deliver the 260-unit project in several phases. It will complete the initial residential building and clubhouse in the fourth quarter of 2014, and the rest by the fourth quarter of 2015.
The 14-building development will include 28 studios, 92 one-, 102 two- and 38 three-bedroom units that residents will access through private, ground-level entries. Select residences will also feature balconies or patios, granite countertops and an attached or detached parking garage as part of the residential building or within structured parking decks. McShane will also build a community clubhouse with a 24-hour fitness center and a resort-style swimming pool.
“We are delighted to have been selected to serve our trusted client, Continental Properties, with the construction of another of their firm's signature multi-family developments,” says Scott J. Hoppa, senior vice president of the company's southeast region.
“Springs at Waukee represents our ninth assignment for this national developer and we look forward to continuing McShane's tradition of success in the on-time completion of these popular rental complexes.”
BSB Design is serving as project architect for this assignment.
