INDEPENDENCE, MO—CommercialSearch.com made its first big introduction in September of 2013 and was built in collaboration with the industry to offer a better commercial real estate marketplace alternative. It's free, easy to use, is packed with features and is embraced by the world's largest firms. The site is endorsed by NAR and was created by data provider Xceligent, a GlobeSt.com thought leader. We recently caught up with Xceligent's chief product officer, Michael Griffin, to chat about how things have gone since its inception, where things stand today, and what tomorrow brings.

“Since our inception we've accumulated almost 400,000 commercial lease and sale listings,” he tells GlobeSt.com. “The number of property detail hits exceeded 1.1 million over the last 30 days and is growing at double digit monthly rates,” he explains, adding that the website's subscriber growth rate is averaging about 8% per month and the growth of listings last month was 12%.

“Our growth in site traffic and content is a clear indication that the industry is eager for a property marketing alternative, and that CommercialSearch is effective in driving business success for its users,” Griffin explains.

And with all the growth, CommercialSearch.com still continues to be “totally free,” Griffin tells GlobeSt.com as it focuses on “building the most active commercial real estate marketplace.”

Part of that “building” includes a recently signed agreement with CCIM that establishes CommercialSearch.com as the portal through which CCIM will access their suite of technology tools, Griffin says. “We'll be deploying a whole new level of sophistication in property analysis to CommercialSearch.com in cooperation with CCIM and ESRI.” He adds that “this includes major improvements in demographics, mapping and output that are combined in one easy-to-use technology tool.”

As the recent ICSC RECon event in Las Vegas, GlobeSt.com was in attendance as CCIM unveiled the formal partnership, with Xceligent CEO Doug Curry noting that “CCIM offered membership a toolkit for geo-spatial analytics around demographic profiles… But the piece that was missing was the real estate itself. By adding that piece through CommercialSearch.com, we are providing CCIMs with an even more powerful tool for real location-based analysis.”

Stay tuned for more from CommercialSearch.com in the coming months as we follow its progress and growth.
