Bellwether Maintains Midwest Presence

COLUMBUS—Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital LLC, a subsidiary of Enterprise Community Investment, Inc. has been expanding across the country in recent months, opening up a Western Regional office in California and another office in Boston. But it also aims to keep adding staff nearer its home base of Cleveland. The commercial and multifamily mortgage banking firm just hired Douglas S. Brooks as senior vice president as part of its origination team. He will work out of the Columbus office.

Brooks joins Bellwether from Forest City Enterprises, Inc., where he originated and structured construction, permanent, TIF and credit tenant lease non-recourse financing for commercial real estate projects. While at Forest City, Brooks was responsible for financing more than 100 transactions totaling more than $2.7 billion of gross loan proceeds. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Ohio Wesleyan University.
