LOS ANGELES—Elisa L. Paster has joined law firm Glaser Weil as a partner in the firm's government and regulatory law practice group. In this new position, Paster will handle land use and entitlement issues, like CEQA, planning and zoning law compliance and the subdivision map act, for developers, landowners, municipal governments and investors.
"I joined Glaser Weil because of their deep roots in the government and regulatory industry and their roster of clients provides a great platform for me," Paster tells GlobeSt.com. "Also, I was very interested in the opportunity to work with Tim McOsker, former chief of staff to Los Angeles Mayor Jim Hahn and former chief deputy city attorney for the City of Los Angeles, who heads the firm's government and regulatory practice. I look forward to helping continue to build the client base for the firm throughout Southern California."
Paster has a seasoned career and ample experience working in the land use space. With a JD from the University of New Mexico and a master in urban planning from the City College of London, Paster has previously served as a partner at law firm Gilchrist & Rutter and worked as an urban planner and policy analyst. “Elisa possesses expertise in guiding individuals and businesses through the complex intricacies of our legislative and regulatory systems,” says Peter Weil, managing partner Glaser Weil. “Her breadth of land use and entitlement experience will be of immeasurable value to the firm's clients.”
Additionally, Paster works with the Urban Planning Institute and the American Planning Association, and she is the president of the Westside Urban Forum and an executive committee member at the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Employment across the real estate sector seems to be picking up. Earlier this week, GlobeSt.com reported that Eric Hasserjian has joined CBRE as managing director of asset services, where he will oversee 35 million square feet, and Transwestern recently expanded its capital markets team with the addition of Josh Kaplan and John Swartz.
