ROSELAND, NJ−The law firm of Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis has established a new redevelopment and land use department, with Robert S. Goldsmith and Meryl A.G. Gonchar to lead as co-chairs.

Also, the firm named Jack Fersko to join Thomas J. Denitzio, Jr. as the new co-chair of real estate.

The firm's executives said the realignment of its real estate practices came in response to growing demand from clients for sophisticated redevelopment and land use counseling.

W. Raymond Felton, a co-managing partner, said, "Developer clients are increasingly seeking specialized legal advice on navigating the redevelopment process and the more complex land use issues that arise in urban redevelopment.”

The new department will offer counsel to private and public clients through the redevelopment process, including negotiation of economic revitalization subsidies and support and securing planning and land use approvals.

Greenbaum Rowe, based in Woodbridge and Roseland, represents developers and builders, numerous municipalities and other real estate industry entities throughout New Jersey. The firm serves as general counsel for the New Jersey Association of Realtors.
