NEW HAVEN, CT—The New Haven Register, which at one time occupied nearly 200,000 square feet of combined office and industrial space at its 40 Sargent Drive headquarters, is relocating its staff to 18,000 square feet of space at the 100 Gando Drive building here.

The lease deal at the 100 Gando Drive property was announced by Praxis Commercial of New York City, which helped the newspaper and media company find the new space at the property known as the Star Building, along with local CBRE brokers Tim Gegan and David Hansen.

The new 18,000-square-foot location will house a modern workspace, designed to encourage collaboration among the various departments at the newspaper. The company's 160 employees will also enjoy ample on-site parking, Praxis officials say. The New Haven Register in early 2012 outsourced its printing operations that were housed at 40 Sargent Drive to the Hartford Courant, according to a published report.
