WASHINGTON, DC—The District has released request for expressions of interest for the redevelopment of air rights over a parking structure at Second and H streets NW and two adjoining parcels.

The solicitation released on Friday by the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development has called for responses to be submitted by Aug. 28.

The site in the Mount Vernon Triangle totals approximately 83,000 square feet of air rights above an existing parking deck that sits over I-395, a 3,750-square-foot adjacent lot and a 9,700-square-foot triangular lot (currently in use as a parking lot) bounded by Second, H and New Jersey Avenue NW, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The redevelopment site is north by a few blocks of Property Group Partners' $1.3-billion Capitol Crossing project that involved building a deck over Interstate 395 that would accommodate 2.2 million square feet of mixed-use development. PGP will pay as much as $120 million for the I-395 air rights. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
