COLUMBUS, OH—CBRE Group, Inc. has just promoted Michael Copella to managing director of its Columbus operations, effective July 1. He will succeed Rob Click, who, as previously announced, will step down as Columbus market leader. Click will remain with CBRE and continue working with key clients and on corporate initiatives.
Copella has been a vice president in CBRE's office services group in Columbus since 2011. He specialized in tenant representation and established a particularly strong position as one of the top real estate professionals serving healthcare clients in Columbus, CBRE officials said.
“Michael will be a terrific leader for us in Columbus,” said John Latessa, senior managing director of CBRE's Midwest Region. “He is highly knowledgeable about the local market, enjoys excellent relations with our clients, his CBRE colleagues and peers in the industry, and has strong leadership skills. He is perfectly positioned to build on the successful foundation that Rob has built for CBRE over the past 15 years and to improve on our #1 position in Columbus.”
Prior to joining CBRE, Copella was vice president at Alterra Real Estate Advisors. In nine years of commercial real estate work, he has served clients such as Anthem Blue Cross, American Health Network, Mount Carmel Health System and Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians. Copella graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
In 2013, CBRE's Columbus office arranged 536 sale and lease transactions, valued at nearly $1.1 billion.
