PHOENIX—Reputation.com has taken a 20,000-square-foot lease, launching a new office in Tempe, Ariz. to open in July, where it intends to hire as many as 150 people by 2015. The property, Anasazi Office Building, is located at 1840 E. Guadalupe Rd. and is owned by Nelson Ranch, Ltd based in Scottsdale. Nick Miner of ORION Investment Real Estate in Scottsdale negotiated the transaction.
“This was a great opportunity for both the landlord and Rep.com to expand into a property that had been vacant for a couple of years. The City of Tempe benefits from a new regional sales office that will generate higher paying jobs as well,” says Miner, vice president at ORION.
Reputation.com has been planning an expansion for a regional sales office for some time. One of the regional managers was from Tempe and suggested Tempe as a potential candidate for the new office. Upon touring several options, the property selected fit many of their requirements: location to freeways, retail amenities and overall economics of the transaction.
Reputation.com is a Silicon Valley technology company that develops patented digital privacy and online reputation management solutions for consumers and businesses. Individuals use Reputation.com's products to control the information that appears about them online, whether it's removing the personal data that's useful to cybercriminals or managing search results to ensure accuracy and visibility.
Colleen McCreary, chief people officer for Reputation.com tells GlobeSt.com why the company decided on Tempe for its expansion.
“We did a broad search and a number of things came into play,” says McCreary. “Arizona came out strong. Tempe, ASU and U of A were big factors because of the entrepreneurial spirit, the educated workforce and the people there were excited about working in our type of environment.”
McCreary explains that Arizona's labor market is much friendlier than that of California. The company's primary corporate office is in Redwood City. “The economy is starting to grow and the cost of living is better; we've even had some employees ask to relocate to the Tempe location already. It's a great place to raise a family. And then there are the tax incentives.”
Reputation.com is actively hiring and working with both ASU and U of A to that end.
“Arizona is home to a vibrant and growing tech community,” says Michael Fertik, Reputation.com's CEO and founder. “The quality, energy and entrepreneurial nature of the workforce here make this a very exciting place for Reputation.com's newest expansion.”
