WASHINGTON, DC—The Hyatt Place Washington D.C./U.S. Capitol officially opened its doors late last week. Officials with Hyatt Corp., JBG Companies and Crescent Hotels & Resorts staged the grand opening ceremonies for the 200-room hotel.

The Hyatt Place has now joined the Courtyard by Marriott and Hilton Garden Inn that had previously opened in the NoMa district, according to a published report in the Washington Post.

“We are very excited to bring the Hyatt Place brand to Washington, D.C., a large and energetic city filled with restaurants, museums, theaters, and entertainment attractions,” said Stacy Smith, general manager, Hyatt Place Washington D.C./U.S. Capitol at the grand opening last Thursday. “We believe this new hotel will add an exciting, new dynamic to the neighborhood, and we are confident that Hyatt Place D.C./U.S. Capitol will exceed guest expectations by providing both business and leisure travelers with everything they need while away from home.”

Amenities at the Hyatt Place Washington D.C./U.S. Capitol include: 1,600 square feet of flexible, high-tech meeting/function space, a 24/7 Gallery Menu serving made-to-order entrees and appetizers around the clock, “A Coffee to Cocktails Bar,” and in-room features such as a a swiveling 42-inch HDTV, the Hyatt Grand Bed, Cozy Corner sectional sofa, and free Wi-Fi.
