PALO ALTO, CA—“Secondary locations within a given market can actually thrive because of technology.” That is according to Roman Rosario, co-founder of locally based RealCrowd. “Quality retailers becomes key.”

GlobeSt.com recently caught up with Rosario to talk about his latest thoughts on retail and tech. “For the people in our company, for example, anything outside of downtown Palo Alto might be considered a secondary location, yet we've still ordered dozens of bi bim baps from Menlo BBQ and 20-plus sandwiches from James' sandwich joint...neither would have happened without door dash,” he explains.

He continues that “Great retail locations will always thrive...technology can actually allow secondary locations to be more viable and compete with primary locations.”

Location becomes slightly less relevant, he says, and quality of product becomes key. “I can now skip going to the sub-par gyro joint simply because of convenience of its location—it's only a block away,” he says.

He adds that “Technology provides me the highest level of convenience possible—the best food from anywhere in Palo Alto...no matter a primary or secondary location...because it's delivered right to my door.”
