AUSTIN–The new world headquarters for HID Global recently received LEED Platinum certification, making it the only industrial manufacturing facility in Texas to hold this title. The $35 million, 250,000-square-foot facility was constructed to consolidate corporate functions, manufacturing, assembly and test operations, distribution and sales operations.

“LEED Platinum certification for our World Headquarters further elevates our award-winning facility as a leading Austin sustainability showcase and a Texas business success story,” says Kevin Teehan, senior director of strategic operations and corporate sustainability with HID Global. “This achievement signifies our Green by Design philosophy and continuing focus on sustainability excellence.”

Houston-based Harvey Cleary Builders was the commercial general contractor for the project, while Austin-based Live Oak-Gottesman was the developer. The headquarters was designed by Studio 8 Architects.
